The Move Well studio is a brand-new exercise space with power-assisted machines, designed to support people who find traditional gyms too challenging.
The aim = Helping people move with confidence, move with support, and move well.
Whether it’s fatigue, mobility issues, or just needing a gentler start, this new space is all about supportive movement for every body.
We all likely know at least one person who would benefit from this support, so if anyone springs to mind and you’d like more information, please don’t hesitate to reach out. A parent, grandparent, auntie, uncle, neighbour or friend could be waiting for their answer to gentle exercise.
Life Leisure offer a fantastic range of group exercise classes catering for all fitness levels and abilities, such as HIIT, Body Pump, Yoga and Spin. Some classes are more intense than others, but each class can be modified for all abilities with adaptations for exercises given where needed.
All classes can be booked up to seven days in advance and we highly recommend doing so where possible to avoid disappointment. Members can book via the Life Leisure app or website.
StrongHer – beginners weightlifting course for women.
Spend six-weeks with our expert coaches and learn everything you need to lift weights safely, efficiently and with confidence, alongside other likeminded women. We’ll teach you how to squat, deadlift, press and pull as well as loads of other essentials! By end of this six-week course, you’ll know how to perform all the main exercises needed to lift weights with confidence.
This course is designed for complete beginners, so even if you’ve never touched a weight before you’ll get along just fine. However, if you do have some experience of lifting weights, you’ll also find this course very beneficial in learning how to structure your workouts, how to lift correctly and iron out any bad habits you may have picked up!
The six-week course is priced at £139.05 and includes:

Life Leisure Avondale features a 25m indoor swimming pool which is perfect for exercising or winding down after a workout in the gym or in one of our studio classes. Whether you want to focus on your lengths in a lane swimming session or spend quality time with your little ones in a family session, Avondale host a variety of sessions to suit your needs. We now offer a Confidence Swimming Sessions
We are proud to offer swimming lessons at Life Leisure Avondale. The swimming scheme provides our younger generation with the skills and confidence they need when it comes to feeling comfortable in the water.
Beginner or pro we have you covered, with four courts available in our sports hall for activities such as badminton, table tennis and more. We also cater for groups or clubs who would like to block out a time on a weekly basis, it’s a great way to socialise and something to look forward to each week.
Recently added: Pickleball!
Pickleball is a fun sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, over a net. It couldn’t be easier to have a go at Pickleball and discover for yourself just how much fun it is! Suitable for adults and juniors, so perfect for some family fun.

Life Leisure Kids classes cater for children aged 5–12 years old and with our specially designed reward scheme encouraging children to make sessions part of their weekly routine.
Mini Movers has landed at Life Leisure Avondale! Bring your under 4’s along for movement, learning and fun.
Carers and support workers can access the facility free of charge to accompany an individual to the gym or pool at Life Leisure Avondale. Please note, a leisure key companion card is required to set up a casual companion account with a member of our reception team to enable access.
All matrix equipment has extra adjustments for accessibility purposes. Users may also be able to use the StarTrack DAP depending on circumstance.
Equipment for people who cannot leave their wheelchair include:

• Matrix – Shoulder press.
• Matrix – Lat pull down.
• Stair Master Air Fit UB – Hand bike.
Other equipment for participants who can leave their wheelchair:

Life Leisure Avondale provide a SEND family swim session and supported swimming lessons. Supported swimming lessons run from 3.50pm – 5.30pm and the SEND family swim sessions run alongside this from 4pm – 5.25pm. Bookings must be made in advance to avoid disappointment.
