R Time is a project for Young People living within Stockport, that not only provides positive, fun activities, but allows young people to have a voice and shape provision across the Borough.
Weekly sessions are taking place in several venues, which are FREE for young people to attend. These are delivered by a number of partners and include a variety of activities to inspire and engage young people. Anyone is welcome to attend and there is no need to book... Just turn up!
There is also a new Youth Panel who meet regularly to not only shape the future of the project, but take on their own projects that tackle issues affecting young people across Stockport. If you are interested in getting involved in this, please email Sasha Moore or call 0161 482 0931, and make sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook.
R Time have a wide range of training opportunities coming up for not only young people but local workers and volunteers that are working with young people within Stockport.
These include courses such as:
• Youth Mental Health First Aid
• Emergency First Aid
• Activator courses in a number of sports
• Managing Challenging Young People
If you would like further information on this, or are part of a community group who would benefit from training at your local venue, please email Sasha Moore or call 0161 482 0931.
In addition to the weekly sessions we have a number of activities throughout the school holidays taking place at various venues. This will change each time, so please keep checking here for updates.
In addition to the “R Time” holiday work, Children in Need are also funding our Fit and Fed activities which are also taking place throughout indoor and outdoor venues across Stockport. These sessions are free and have a variety of activities on offer (from sports to arts & crafts) in addition to providing a meal/food to all those who attend.
Overall the project has 3 key outcomes:
1. Reduce holiday hunger throughout young people living within Stockport
2. Increase social interaction throughout young people living within Stockport
3. Create positive behaviour change throughout the young people living within Stockport
These sessions are for any young person aged 5+ and we welcome parents and all the family to come and take part!
We would like to thank The Community Fund and Children in Need, as without their funding this would all not be possible.
