R Time is a project for Young People living in Stockport, that provides positive, fun activities, and also allows young people to have a voice and shape provision across the project.
Weekly sessions take place in several venues and are FREE for young people to attend. Sessions are delivered by a number of partners and include a variety of activities to inspire and engage young people. Anyone is welcome to attend and there is no need to book... Just turn up!
We have a Youth Panel who meet regularly to not only shape the future of the project, but take on their own projects that tackle issues affecting young people across Stockport. If you are interested in getting involved, please email Sasha Moore or call 0161 482 0931. Make sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook.
R Time have a wide range of training opportunities for not only young people but also local workers and volunteers who work with young people in Stockport.
• Youth Mental Health First Aid
• Emergency First Aid
• Activator courses in a number of sports
• Managing Challenging Young People
If you would like further information, or are part of a community group who would benefit from training at your local venue, please email Sasha Moore or call 0161 482 0931.
In addition to the weekly sessions we have a number of activities throughout the school holidays taking place at various venues. The timetable for holiday activities will change for each holiday, so please keep checking this page for updates.
In addition to the “R Time” holiday work, Children in Need are also funding our Fit and Fed activities which run at indoor and outdoor venues across Stockport. Sessions are free and have a variety of activities on offer (from sports to arts & crafts) in addition to providing a meal/food to all those who attend.
The R Time project has 3 key aims:
1. Reduce holiday hunger for young people living in Stockport.
2. Increase social interaction for young people living in Stockport.
3. Create positive behaviour change for young people living in Stockport
R Time sessions are for any young person aged 5+ and we welcome parents and all the family to come and take part!
We would like to thank The Community Fund and Children in Need, as without their support this project would not be possible.
The Special Projects pot is to support and inspire young people to make decisions and take action which will positively affect their communities and the people that live in them. We would like to see this impacting positively on young people and the communities that they live in with clear results and provide to young people in need of support/activities who are not currently engaging with organisations who are linked to the partnership group.
There is no minimum or maximum amount, therefore groups can apply for small pots to support with equipment or larger amounts to fund longer projects – as long as it meets the needs of the “R Time” project (please note for each Special Projects round there is total £10000 available only for all groups to apply into)
