Join us for an inclusive and enjoyable SEND Stay & Play experience at Life Leisure Houldsworth Village! Our vibrant evening is filled with a variety of activities, from sports and board games to sensory toys and arts & crafts. Designed to cater to those with additional needs, we create an adapted environment led by our experienced staff.

This session is a smaller group of children, who may have higher levels of communication needs and require resources and equipment to help participate in games and activities. Dedicated time to encourage them to parallel play or as a team. This session may need more assistance from parents/carers, especially if the child has 1:1/2:1 support at school.

In our sports hall, we’ve crafted different stations to engage children at their own pace. Our trained staff, from various departments, deliver a range of low-demand and easily accessible games and tasks.

Our overarching goal extends beyond providing a sustainable activity session for SEND children aged 5-14. We aim to serve as a launchpad, introducing participants to other offerings at Life Leisure, including holiday camps, swimming, gym, and more!

Join us for an inclusive and enjoyable SEND Stay & Play experience at Life Leisure Houldsworth Village! This group would be ideal for children who may already be confident in playing team games and interacting with others, and who may only need a little support from adults. In this session we hope to encourage the children play together in a bigger group with more focus on helping them with social, emotional skills as well as improving their sports, arts & crafts and games skills.

Price: First 4 sessions for new participants are FREE! These free sessions can be used for a mixture of welcome sessions and inclusive fitness sessions. The sessions are then priced at £7.00 each or available as part of our Life Leisure HUB gym membership at £26.50 per month.

Enjoy two 40-minute welcome sessions, offering flexibility with your choice of arrival at 12.45pm or 1.30pm. These sessions will let you learn the ropes with a comprehensive introduction to our gym equipment, ensuring you feel confident and comfortable in our building. Our experienced coaches will be ready to provide you with personalised guidance, addressing your unique requirements and helping you map out a plan that suits you.

Price: The first four sessions for new participants are free! These free sessions can be used for a mixture of welcome sessions and inclusive fitness sessions. The sessions are then priced at £7.00 each or available as part of our Life Leisure HUB gym membership at £26.50 per month.

Experience our inclusive fitness sessions in our specially adapted gym environment, with quieter timeslots and a coach present to supervise the session.

Age range: 4 – 11 years
Day: Monday, Wednesday & Saturday
Location: Life Leisure Cheadle, Life Leisure Avondale and Life Leisure Romiley

Our Supported Lesson scheme is for children aged 4 – 11 years with a disability who may need more support and a smaller class size than mainstream lessons can offer. The aim of these lessons is to teach children to become more independent in the water and help them to join a mainstream class.

The team were welcoming and engaging. The facilities were lovely, so many nice things to choose from. There was plenty to do. The room was big, clear and clean and it was a great warm inviting area. Staff were kind and calm and nothing was too much trouble. As a parent of two autistic children it was a breath of fresh air as there’s so very little available for children with additional needs so we are very grateful for your efforts and ideas and desire to help and enrich the lives of these complex children. What a fantastic idea. Thank you very much!

I think the activities being completely child led works very well, and the huge choice of activities to do is fab. Great for a childlike Rorey, who isn't overly sporty or active, but loves his puzzles! Everyone is so lovely and friendly, and are absolutely fantastic with the children. Rorey feels less anxious in 1-1, or very small group settings, so these sessions have been great for him. Every session Rorey has been really chatty. He is usually extremely introverted in new settings with new people, but he came out of his shell pretty much straight away with you all, which just shows how welcomed, comfortable and safe you made him feel.
