R Time is a project for young people living in Stockport that provides positive, fun activities and also allows young people to have a voice and shape provision across the project.

Weekly sessions take place in several venues and are FREE for young people to attend! Sessions are delivered by a number of partners and include a variety of activities to inspire and engage young people. Anyone is welcome to attend and there is no need to book... Just turn up! See our timetable below.

We have a Youth Panel who meet regularly to not only shape the future of the project, but take on their own projects that tackle issues affecting young people across Stockport.

If you are interested in getting involved, please email Sasha Moore. Make sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook.

You can also take a look at our R Time structure here which includes more information on the project and its partners.

Special Projects Funding

As part of the “R Time” funding we often open up our Special Projects Funding to community groups, young people and youth projects to achieve one or more of the following outcomes:

  1. The number of anti-social behaviour incidents involving young people is reduced
  2. Young people have increased access to training and volunteering placements within the heart of the community
  3. Wider and more diverse opportunities available in the heart of the neighbourhoods for local residents

Although there is a focus on Priority Areas of Stockport, this project is for all young people across the Borough, of all ages, gender, ethnic background and ability.

Young people’s ideas are the sole focus or the funding, with partner agencies playing a key role in ensuring that there is a wide provision and something to inspire everyone.

Sustainability is also key throughout this project, so this must also be considered when looking at any element of the project.

You can have a look at some of the Special Projects we have helped to fund here.

Special Projects is not currently open for applications. Please keep an eye on this page for further updates and opportunities.

Holiday Activities

In addition to the weekly sessions we have a number of activities throughout the school holidays taking place at various venues. The timetable for holiday activities will change for each holiday, so please keep checking this page for updates.

In addition to the R Time holiday work, Children in Need are also funding our Fit and Fed activities which run at indoor and outdoor venues across Stockport. Sessions are free and have a variety of activities on offer (from sports to arts & crafts) in addition to providing a meal/food to all those who attend.

The R Time project has 3 key aims:
1. Reduce holiday hunger for young people living in Stockport.
2. Increase social interaction for young people living in Stockport.
3. Create positive behaviour change for young people living in Stockport

R Time sessions are for any young person aged 5+ and we welcome parents and all the family to come and take part!

We would like to thank The Community Fund and Children in Need, as without their support this project would not be possible.
