Sports and Activity Clubs in Stockport 2023

From 2023, Life Leisure are looking to offer support for clubs and groups across Stockport redevelop a Sport and Activity club Network. Although we don’t have the resource of staff and capacity as we have previously harnessed in past years, we want to be able to support clubs across Stockport through good practice, development, and future planning. We believe the new Network can play an important role in assessing how we collectively can support each other in Stockport.

We are aiming to bring together useful contact information for sport and activity clubs in Stockport and we hope to be here as a support mechanism across the following areas of work:

  • Be a part of the Stockport Sport and Activity Club Network.
  • Funding and application processes and advice.
  • Club accreditation through National Governing bodies.
  • Coach education and training for coaches and volunteers (including DBS advice, Safeguarding, SEND Inclusivity Support and training. Etc).
  • Support to setup a new Sport and Activity club.
  • Facility development and support.
  • Marketing and communications support (social media presence and good news story sharing).
