About the Centre

Located in the centre of Stockport, next to the train station, Life Leisure Grand Central provides first class fitness and swimming facilities. The gym houses the latest fitness equipment and has a dedicated performance zone and aerobics studio with weeky programme of classes. Grand Central is also home to Stockport's only 50m swimming pool and Stockport Metro, the UK's most successful swimming club and learn to swim programme.

CUSTOMER NOTICE - BABY SPLASH CANCELLED (MONDAY 16 JULY)

Due to a colder than normal water temperature this morning (Monday 16 July) the Baby Splash sessions scheduled at 10am and 10.45am have been cancelled today. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

CUSTOMER NOTICE - BRAND NEW HEALTH SUITE NOW OPEN

We are pleased to announce our fantastic NEW Health Suite at Life Leisure Grand Central is now open, offering great facilities including a sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy pool and aromatherapy room.

In order to manage the capacity, access will be monitored so more customers can benefit from using the facilities. On each visit, you will need to sign in at reception and collect a wristband which will give you access to the health suite area for 90 minutes.

CUSTOMER NOTICE - SMALL POOL/SPLASH POOL CLOSURE FROM 12 MARCH '18

The small swimming pool/Oasis splash pool closed on Sunday 11th March at 6pm and will remain closed until mid-Summer 2018, whilst we complete works on the new Splash pool and flumes/slides at Grand Central. Baby Splash & Swim Tots will continue as normal but will take place in the main pool. We apologise for any inconvenience but we look forward to opening the fantastic new Splash pool and slides in the Summer of 2018.

FREE PARKING FOR GRAND CENTRAL CUSTOMERS (JANUARY '18)

From Wednesday 3rd January '18, any visitor using Life Leisure Grand Central will be granted two hours FREE PARKING if using the NCP multi-storey car park. Please be aware that any visit longer than two hours will be charged at the normal rate including the first two hours. Customers must validate their parking ticket using the machine at reception, with the two hours parking offer available only to Life Leisure Grand Central customers.

Home to Stockport Metro, the UK's most successful swimming club, world class swimmers and Olympic medalists train here on a daily basis. CUSTOMER NOTICE – General Maintenance/Upgrades to Life Leisure Centres

With agreed funds for 2017/18 of approx. £5m for the Life Leisure estate, we are working with Stockport Council to improve and upgrade some aged mechanical and electrical equipment at various Life Leisure sites with more modern and efficient equipment. This will help improve the customer experience as we will have greater control of the environment in facilities, e.g. temperatures in both swimming pools (where applicable) and the building generally. By installing more efficient equipment Life Leisure will also become more eco-friendly, reducing our carbon footprint, with our ultimate aim being to offer carbon neutral centres. These major works will present us with some operational difficulties along the way, which we will try to minimise, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused. We will provide more details as they become clearer.
