Following the latest government announcement we are hoping to reopen our centres next week, however at this stage we are waiting on further clarification on what Tier Stockport (& Greater Manchester) will be placed in and what, if any restrictions are placed on all our services. Due to the current pandemic this centre shall be temporarily closed from end of play Wednesday 4 November. We will update this page with further details as soon as we are in a position to reopen. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Located on the grounds of Stockport Academy, a few hundred yards from Morrisons, Life Leisure Avondale is an award winning centre providing fantastic facilities and programmes for all the family.


CENTRE REFURBISHMENT WORKS (UPDATED 28 OCT '20)

lifeLEISURE, in partnership with SMBC, is proud to announce a new refurbishment project at the centre as part of Stockport Council’s investment strategy. The work undertaken will transform the current gym and pool changing areas into a modern changing village. The work will commence on Monday 26th October and is expected to be completed early in 2021.

During the ongoing works, the gym, studio and sports hall will remain open. However, there will be no changing facilities available, or toilets downstairs. It is envisaged that the swimming pool will re-open following the completion of the work. We look forward to bringing you new and improved facilities and will keep you updated on timescales as the project progresses.

Sport hall

Our sports hall can be hired out for football, badminton and a number of other sports as a block booking or on a casual basis. To allow for social distancing, the sports hall will be used to facilitate all studio classes. There will be no sports bookings until further notice.

Stockport Taekwondo also run weekly sessions here at Life Leisure Avondale. For more information, please see their website or download their latest leaflet.
